Gerties magischer Pflanztisch

Hallo,

*breitgrins*
... as promised (or as being threatened *teehee*) we're going to continue with Gertie Gumthrop's magical planting table today. As I've already told you in the last post - it couldn't stay as empty as it was... or as my Birgit would say: You must be able to see the working part when looking at a work table. Just between us - this saying didn't happen in any connection with Gertie's planting table but was about Birgit's own work table where we sometimes all together have a hard time remembering the tabletop's colour... *shows-a-broad-grin

But now to the topic of Gertie's magical planting table - the first piece for it was made by Birgit some time ago... Inspired by a post from Betsy who was showing in her usual great way how she made seed trays for her conservatory Birgit also made two little starter kits for seedlings with the help of pills' leftovers.

In one of them the seed has even sprouted! How lovely... although... will I be saying this still once the plants are fully grown? You can never know with magical plants... beware Gertie cultivating a new generation of Audreys... *gulp* And in general I'm not a fan of plants who are able to look at me... and can even speak to me... luckily strawberries are not able to do anything of this otherwise my relationship with them would become tricky... oh my... sweet, red, juicy, aromatic strawberries... *sigh*... eh... where was I... oh yes... magical planting table. Last week I've already told you Birgit was going to use one of the drawers for a special purpose... it was changed into a storage box for potting soil right away.

Wurm und Nacktschnecke - Geschenke von Hannah
Worm and slug - gifts from Hannah

And no need to worry - the gap caused by the missing drawer was closed in a wink of an eye...

See - Gertie's notes, parchment scrolls and seed packages sure need a place to stay. But of course this bit of paper is not enough for Gertie's needs - some reference scripts always need to be right at hand.

I suppose this is the smallest magical paper stack Birgit has ever made... *smile* Usually she lets go herself when creating these - but this time she had the available space in mind. And if you'd had a closer look you could even see that the table already got its first treatment with moss - because it couldn't stay tidy as well as it couldn't stay empty. *LOL* Next in line were the boxes I've already shown you the last time. The small box with the partitions was filled with seed packages, flower bulbs, shells and binding wire...

... and the owl box with even more papers as well as some floristic specimen out of Gertie's big collection.

*kicher*).
A Sunflower garden en miniature was mandatory too - as well as some wonderful gifts from dear friends (some of them however had to meet Birgit's brushes - the gifts, not the dear bloggers... *giggle*).

Vielen Dank an / with many thanks to: Sharee, Hannah, Maria, Kikka, Drora + Karin

Zusammen mit noch einigen Werkeleien von Birgit...
Together with some works by Birgit...

... bei denen nebenbei noch eine Pflanzkiste abfiel...
... with a planting box as a sidekick...

... it was finally time to start the decoration of the magical planting table. And this is how it looks now:

And of course it was no surprise at all Birgit managed to put everything on it she had planned to put there. And of course Birgit did not forget about the owl shelf:

Froschlaich-Dose - Geschenk von Kikka / Vogelschädel von Nicky Cooper / Eulenregal - Geschenk von Melli / Alles andere: Birgit
Frog-spawn-jar - gift from Kikka / bird skull by Nicky Cooper / Owl shelf - gift from Melli / Everything else: Birgit

And so it's once more time for a check on yet another subject on Birgit's To-do-list... and even more important: Where there is a planting table the happy planting can start... having in mind there is a whole roof garden waiting to be created. The only question is if Birgit's plans are matching or if she's planning something else... you can never know what she'll be up to next... but of course this is for sure... whatever it will be - I'm going to report! ;O)

Liebe Grüße / Hugs
Flutterby

There are so many Treasures included in this Garden worktable, and yet it feels very "organized" and clearly everything has a useful place!!! (I wish I had a table just like this one!!!) Birgit has worked her usual Magic and it just looks Fantastic!!! Yes, there is so much to look at I keep going back again and spotting something else I missed at first!
