Die ersten Schritte

Hallo,

*grins*
... many many years ago Lao-Tse so wisely said every journey begins with a very first step. Well, the building of my house in a way is some kind of a journey - and there also is a first step needed... and afterwards many more... until after many steps I will finally have my own house. *beams-with-joy* I can't thank Fluby enough for so generously allowing me to present the steps of my house building bearsonally on our blog. Well, he's a true gentlebear for sure... *grin*

Birgit already made the very first step of this project with dedicating the "Summer House" kit by DHE to me. After that there was no more progress for a long, long time because Birgit was building the new witch tower - but now we finally took out the pieces of my future home. I can't find the words to tell you how exciting this is - have a look at this for example:

No, this is not a jumping fence for horse show jumping... *LOL* This is my future stairs that will lead to my porch. First Birgit dry built the house to give us a better impression how big it will become and to enable us to make plans. And this was for sure a very important step because all of a sudden everything became concrete - out of this big window I will have a look outside in the future.

I really like that! But what I didn't like very much was the realization that my house won't be very spacious. You could even say it's very tiny indeed... Well - I'll have to say goodbye to the plans of having a comfy chill out lounge with cozy sofas. *LOL* But anyhow how small it will be... it will be my own house. And in one point Birgit and I agreed at once... I will need my own big work desk and of course a bed. Everything else will show up.

So Birgit improvised a bit with a bed from her stash and the windwopane of the big window to give me a better impression. Well, I totally like the idea of the big workplace directly in front of the window... You need to know that I'm the crafter among the BiWuBearies. Birgit says she already envies me because her own worktable is very tiny. And the bed can find no other place than in this corner...

... because here is another window that can be slided!

I think that's great, I can lie in my bed and the morning sun will greet me every day... Birgit is not that glad about it, she says this sliding window is the only thing of this kit she really dislikes. It's because it doesn't have a window pane or something like that, you only slide the wood away and then you have an open hole - and in Birgit's opinion that isn't logical. She says she will think about a solution. Well, I have no doubt she will work that out - anyhow we both agree that my future bed is supposed to stand here.

Birgit got some furniture next (You know... from the depth of her may-be-somewhen-somehow-useful-for-something-boxes) thinking this would fit and put them in place.

I absolutely like this corner shelf (gift from Silke) - and I'm really happy that I shall get the small round table (gift from Drora), the beautiful chair (gift from Vicky) and the fantastic light blue shelf (gift from Birgit's parents, bought at Mundorosa). It's not yet decided if we'll use the little shelf next to the door and if this side table will stay... but somehow this is how it's going to become. And I'll need a place for my beary house somwhere... Yes, trust your eyes... I too am building miniature houses *wink*. That's why I'm so glad about that big work desk. Birgit promised she'll attach a nice big windowsill for me. And although I've been at first a little bit upset learning that my house offers so little space but when Birgit put the two vases with roses there (my favourite flowers - I bet you're totally surprised now, aren't you? *giggle*) I somehow felt aat home all of a sudden. It doesn't matter how much space I got... this is going to become my cozy home, basta!

And not to forget I also have a porch outside where I will be sitting enjoying the nice weather in the future (and as you all know from Fluby's Strawberry Cottage here in Birgit's living room we usually have nice weather around... *LOL*). Here on this picture we can show you something special about this kit... Birgit says building it together is as simple as building with Lego.

But I had to try something else that was very important to me... I had to find out if the gorgeous swing we rececived as a gift from our dear Ewa would fit on my porch.

And what shall I say... at the moment it's only temporary but it will fit in any case! I'm getting a fantastic little house... with a big work desk, a bed with a view and a beautiful swing at my porch... really... I am indeed the most happiest flower beary in the whole wide world! ;O)

Liebe Grüße / Hugs
Rosey

Dear Rosey, if you can't fit a comfy couch in your beautiful house. may be you could put one on the porch where you could sit or lay down. I love that you have room for a nice big desk to work on. You must be very excited.

Hi Rosey,
What a cute little cottage! I love the big work space Birgit is building for you.
The sliding window is really neat. What about taking the outside frame off and attaching some "glass" to the outside and then framing over it? Just my thoughts.
Enjoy the building process.
Hugs, Isabelle

Hello Rosey, what a lovely Home, you are getting. It already has "you" written all over and not only because of the two vases with roses. It must be that ginormous workspace you are getting! How exciting!!! I am sure Birgit will find all sorts of clever solutions, be it to put everything you need inside or changing the sliding window so that you both are happy with it. It's going to be so much fun to follow you and this project!!

Skiddi
